Summary
The Facilities Space Planner at a financial investment firm is critical in optimizing office space utilization and ensuring that the physical layout aligns with the company's operational needs. This role will analyze space requirements, assess current space utilization, and develop plans to maximize efficiency and functionality. This role will include creating floor plans, coordinating office relocations, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure space allocation meets organizational needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Assess and plan the allocation of office space, ensuring efficient resource use while accommodating the firm's various departments and teams.
* Create detailed floor plans, layouts, and schematics using computer-aided design (CAD) software to visualize and document space configurations.
* Work closely with department heads and management to understand their spatial requirements and objectives, incorporating feedback into the design.
* Select and recommend appropriate furniture and equipment that align with the firm's aesthetic and functional needs while adhering to budget constraints.
* Ensure the office layout complies with local building codes, accessibility standards, and safety regulations.
* Maintain a budget for space planning projects, seeking cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or functionality.
* Integrate sustainable design principles into space planning, promoting eco-friendly practices and materials when feasible.
* Keep accurate records of space plans, updates, and changes to facilitate future modifications or renovations.
* Stay current with industry trends in office design, technology, and space optimization to ensure the firm's workspace remains competitive and efficient.
* Identify and resolve space-related issues and conflicts, adapting plans to meet evolving needs.

Qualifications
* Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction of buildings or other structures.
* Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations to protect people, data, property, and institutions.
* Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
* Some knowledge of laws, legal codes, government regulations, and local municipality codes and how they apply to the construction and maintenance of each facility.

Education and Experience
* Minimum Required: Associate's degree or combination of education and work experience.
* Minimum Required: 2+ years of related experience and working with CAD Software.

Licenses and Credentials
* Minimum Required: AutoCAD certified.

Systems and Technology
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
* Proficient in AutoCAD.
