Job Description

Position Purpose

The Clinical Supervisor will demonstrate competency as a Clinical Supervisor by planning, organizing, and managing the personnel and resources in order to provide the highest quality care with trained, professionals, and competent staff in the most cost effective and productive manner for the clinical area; demonstrates an advanced level of clinical skills and the ability to assist others to achieve quality care skills; plans for clinic operations and patient care to proceed smoothly for the highest quality; have organizational skills evident in personal level of accomplishments, clinic operations and ability to prioritize for a high level of work output and take initiative for continuous improvement of quality in a fast paced, stressful, rapidly changing environment; demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills in leadership, evident in patient care situations as well as general clinic operations and management duties; competency in the training of personal, development of a high quality team for care, supervisor and management staff, ability to relate to staff, peers, resource personnel and supervisors.

Nature and Scope

This is a clinically focused position that is challenged to maintain a well-organized and functioning department that allows for the enhancement of evidenced based practice and continuity of patient care throughout the healthcare continuum. The Supervisor coordinates care and collaborates with other professional disciplines as needed, to optimize patient outcomes.

* Coordinates physicians, personnel and other resources to ensure quality services and outcomes.

* Participates with administration/manager in review of clinic operations and preparation of regular statistical and narrative reports.

* Create an individualized plan for continuous quality improvement in collaboration with the Manager that is fully implemented an updated quarterly.

* Assumes fiscal responsibilities of the clinic through collaboration with the Manager in creation of a budget and independent follow-up to maintain operations within the established budget parameters.

* Timely justification or explanation of variance to budget

* Seeks out and obtains advanced knowledge, credentials, specialty exams, and training/education for clinical/administrative/managerial roles

* Evaluates care given in the facility and intervenes with appropriate action as needed

* Serves as a role model and educational resource for Advanced Wound Care in the community

* Gathers, analyzes, evaluates and prepares information needs and trends regarding staffing, procedures, equipment and training. Reports this information to the Manager and maintains documentation for regulatory compliance

* Integrates knowledge of reimbursement into patient communication, collaborating with 3rd party payers and other professionals as needed

* Utilizes skills and knowledge to assist staff in the clinic setting and help to coordinate patient care

* Demonstrates competency to instruct and monitor staff in ordered treatments including but not limited vital signs, capillary blood sugars, vascular assessments, wound assessments, sterile technique, and dressings

* Implements and evaluates for care which reflects appropriate nursing and medical diagnosis, goal development, outcome criteria and target dates

This position does provide patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

Name

Description

Education:

Must have knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. BSN or related bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience:

Three (3) years of health care experience in a position of increasing responsibility. Previous supervisory experience required. Knowledge of wound related products and procedures required.

License(s):

Ability to obtain and maintain State of Nevada Registered Nurse.

Certification(s):

Current BLS certification by American Heart Association standards required. ACLS preferred within 1 year.

Computer / Typing:

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies and complete online benefits enrollment, etc. Must have an understanding of electronic interfacing and the ability to know or learn how to manage said interfaces.
