Job Description Summary

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic intern to contribute to our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives. You will have the opportunity to gain direct experience in supporting and advancing our DEI efforts within our organization. This internship provides valuable exposure to corporate DEI strategies and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on our company's culture and practices.

Compensation

$20/hour

Time Commitment

24 hours/week; up to 16 weeks (minimum 12 weeks), ideally starting summer 2024

Work schedule

3 days/week, 9:00am-5:00pm

Tuesdays & Wednesday in-office in Chicago Loop; Monday, Thursday, or Friday (flexible) virtual

Projects & Responsibilities

  • DEI Council
    • Create resources and maintain an internal repository of DEI-related content for leaders of the DEI Council. This content will be based on researching best practices and trends in DEI to help inform and enhance our strategies and initiatives, staying up to date on industry trends, emerging research, and legislative developments related to DEI.
    • Work with DEI Council, assisting in coordinating DEI events, workshops, and awareness campaigns.
  • Diversity Supplier Program
    • Support the growth and usage of internal Diversity Supplier catalog.

Qualifications

  • Current undergraduate student pursuing a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Human Resources, Sociology, Social Sciences, or related disciplines)
  • Strong interest in diversity, equity, and inclusion topics and a passion for driving positive change within organizations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint and ability to learn and navigate new systems and tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders
  • Solid research and analytical skills to gather and interpret data related to DEI
